Overview
Like everyone we were deeply saddened and shocked to hear about Ricky’s passing and we send our love, sympathy and commiserations to Ricky's family and friends. We worked with Ricky and his team on many occasions and he was always fun, humorous and professional. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. We brought ‘The Hitman’ to Coral creating a campaign where Ricky could offer their customers his exclusive views, blogs and tweets on the big fight. We took advantage of Rickys huge social media following and promoted Coral’s big fight odds and offers. Ricky also answered fans questions on the fight with a live twitter Q&A from Vegas.
The Challenge
With the biggest boxing fight in history about to take place in Las Vegas we knew one boxer who had fought both Pacquiao and Mayweather and who’s view would be widely respected amongst fight fans. Ricky Hatton would be the perfect voice for Coral for the mega fight. During Rickys preparation for his fight with Mayweather we introduced him to WWE giants The Undertaker and Batista (above). We invited the media to the gym a couple of days before these two giants met in Manchester.
The Solution
ENGAGEMENT FOR ACQUISITION - THE KNOCKOUT PUNCH Ricky’s insider knowledge and willingness to chat with fight fans and punters under the Coral umbrella ensured this campaign really resonated on social media.
